Pizza Tower

Pizza Tower is a 2023 2D platformer by Tour de Pizza that is considered a spiritual successor to Wario Land 4. The art is comparable to cartoons from the 90's due to its wacky and distinct pixelized style. The gameplay is fast-paced and in my opinion takes a bit to get used to, but once you have it down the game is good fun. To me, the soundtrack is one of the best and has inspired many of my works.

UNDERTALE

Undertale by Toby Fox and Temmie Chang is a game I've been in love with since 2017. It released in 2015 and is a great RPG where you don't have to hurt anyone. The graphics have their own charming pixelated style that you can compare to either the NES or the SNES. The soundtrack is similar to Pizza Tower's in the way that it blends instruments from older games like Earthbound and Super Mario World with more modern instruments like the SGM soundfont.

DELTARUNE

Deltarune by Toby Fox is the parallel story to Undertale. There are many characters in the game that you'll recognize from Undertale, and there are plenty of new ones to meet. The battle system focuses more on teamwork but you are still able to fight, act, use your items, or spare the enemy. The soundtrack is as great as Undertale's and only gets better as more chapters release. Currently, the game has 4 chapters and will have 7 chapters when it is finished.

Donkey Kong Bananza

Donkey Kong Bananza, released in 2025, is a 3D platformer that focuses on destruction and collecting as many bananas as you can. The graphics are a perfect balance of realistic and cartoony. DK's design is better than ever and takes loads of inspiration from his first ever appearances. The DK Artist mode unlocks lots of creativity as you're given a set of tools that you can use to carve, sculpt, and paint anything.

My Singing Monsters

My Singing Monsters was released in 2012 by Big Blue Bubble. In the game, you can collect many monsters, breed them to get new ones, and hear them sing. You can compose your own songs with the sounds of monsters in the game's Composer Island. You can also view others' islands and upvote them to get them higher on the charts.

Smiling Friends

Smiling Friends, by co-creators Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel, is an absurd animation about 4 guys who work to make people smile and are commanded by a kind but deranged boss. The show has 2 seasons as of now, and the 3rd will release this fall.

Bridge Kids

Bridge Kids is a YouTube miniseries by Mike Carfora and Adam Mickiewicz about 2 strange kids who live under a bridge and are constantly pestered by 2 fellow kids that are equally as strange. Like Smiling Friends, the dialogue sounds comedically unscripted and you can never predict what will happen next.
